First Solo Photography Exhibit

So it happened, wrapping up the year I spent exploring/practicing photography with my very first solo photography exhibit, and with just a little over two weeks to prepare for it! Had a great time, with staying up til 4 am trying to get things ready. The very talented owner at Salome The Design Gallery was awesome in creating a space that allows for local artists to exhibit their work. It is a lovely multidisciplinary studio in downtown Danbury, she really created an oasis of beauty there.

Working from home to avoid driving in this weather and a penguin came to play in the yard. 🙂

Holly thinks because I’m home today, I’m supposed to be her play buddy all day (this dog has so much energy but I love it), so she kept bringing me ornaments off the christmas tree (which is not cool). I’m glad she encourages me to take breaks from work to play a little, though she is not happy with this dress up.

Visiting Caramoor because Karla wanted to go in to work on a Saturday, but we ended up walking around the beautiful grounds of her job instead with Holly. It really is a magical place.

Foggy Winter

The fog was very heavy on this day, and by chance these canoes were floating on the lake so perfectly as I drove by so I grabbed my camera. I love how the fog hides all the development on the lake, making it seem so endless and mysterious, as nature intended.

We decorated, by decorated meaning we got our tree on time this year. A full year at this house, and it couldn’t be cozier. I love the fireplace, usually Holly sits right in front of it on the ottoman. This place is the perfect size for us, and we are doing our best to make it feel “lived in” over this past year.

It’s Thanksgiving Already?

We are nearing the end of the year, and the holidays are here, already! Yikes. This year we stayed local, jumping from my mother’s house to our friends’ down the street from our home with our alternative parents, Nancy & Skip. Great food, great company, plenty of cheers going around. It has been a great year, and we have so much to be thankful for.

We also started our morning with the 5K Turkey Trot, which was a great way to begin our day of feasts.

Pag’s Fab Wine Tasting Party

A mystery wine tasting contest at our friend Pag’s house.

Bring a bottle of wine, it gets wrapped up to hide the label, then numbered, everyone gets a taste of all the wines on the tables and votes for their best! Since we were our own pourers, people got a little mixed up on what a “tasting” is.

It was a lot of fun, they even had a really nerdy guy crunching the numbers based on people’s ballots! Always a good time at Pag and Jeff’s.
